Weird Times!

Hello, friends! I truly hope you are all safe & healthy during these strange times! I know all of you have been affected by this terrible virus in some way, & it's been inspirational to see so many people come together (figuratively, of course :) ) for support & strength. I'm in that same boat as most of you where my job has been put on hold abruptly & indefinitely, which has caused a lot of strain & uncertainty. Searching for another form of income has led me to reach out to you all. There are a few ways you can help out where you'll receive not only my undying gratitude, but also some art or some kind of perks in return (ONLY if you're capable, however! A share would be more than enough as well.):
- If you ever wanted a commission or some kind of art from me, please hit me up so we can queue something up. (For those few who are waiting on yours, you'll be getting those soon.. :) Email me at
- Check out my online shop where I have a plethora of art prints & originals (Note: shipment will be delayed due to the "Shelter at Home" ordinance, but you WILL receive your art while also allowing me to buy toilet paper!)
- Visit my Patreon page where you can look over different tiers & amounts you would pay only on the 1st of each month.
Thank you for even considering any of these & again, do not feel obligated at all!I know this a weird time we're going through, but I also know that we will get through this.
Stay positive, stay aware & stay home! ;)

Watch (& Draw) in Horror.....PART II!!

My favorite sights, smells & sounds have returned as we enter the spookiest, greatest month EVER!
Not only does October bring the horror masks, terrifying decorations & delicious candy, but it also brings an artistic challenge that been around for many years...."INKTOBER." Yes, the drawing challenge where you follow a prompt for everyday of October & create 31 drawings following those monstrous ideas. Some of you may remember I created my own list year where I watch, the DRAW, 31 different horror films throughout the month. Here was last years's list:

I've decided to once again balance more work on my head this year & create Watch (& Draw) in Horror.....PART II!:

I've already started this list & I'm ridiculously excited to see what comes from these movies. Be sure to give me a follow on InstagramTwitter &/or Facebook to check out all my drawings & if you're planning on participating (PLEASE DO!!!!), be sure to tag all your work with the #DrawInHorror hashtag so we can search & share all YOUR amazing art!
Alright, friends...feel free to share this list with all YOUR friends & let's inspire eachother! Enjoy this magical time of the year & STAY CREATIVE!

Hello, fellow weirdos!
I was ridiculously lucky enough to design a poster for "Weird Al" Yankovic's 2019 STRINGS ATTACHED TOUR & I had to share with you. This particular print was created for last night's show & is available NOW in my online shop!
These were handed out as lithographs to only the VIP ticket holders at the show, but not sold there. ONLY 50 are now available to the general public, so act fast! These 50 are not lithographs, however, but beautiful, 18"x 24", 4-color screen prints ready to make your wall WEIRD! So, again, head to now to add this to your collection.
This was a very special print for me to do. My older brother, Ryan, introduced me to Weird Al when I was around 8 years old & I've been a fan ever since. Coincidentally, the date of this particular show poster falls on my brother's birthday (which was yesterday - June 23, 2019). Now that's just WEIRD!!
Big high five to Nakatomi, Inc. for including me in this project & for printing these screen prints with ridiculous skill & grace. What a wonderfully weird project this was....

My collection of Monster MugShots continues to grow!
Even though I shouldn't say his name, MADMAN MARZ, & the beautiful curse that is PUMPKINHEAD have been caught & now they want YOU to release them!
Head to my ONLINE STORE to add them to your collection & to trade with your fellow horror amigos! The series is now at NINETEEN strong...WHO WILL BE NEXT?

I know I've been SUPER silent on my page, but as mentioned in the post before this one, I'm active & post regularly on my Patreon page. Please check it out if you haven't already & consider going my Art Family there!
That being said, I had to share this post with you to hopefully get it in front of more eyeballs for the upcoming Holiday season...:

October is just a few weeks away!!! Can you believe it?! It's almost here already & we're currently thick in the best part of October/Halloween...the BUILD UP!
I'm sure the majority of you know about a little thing called "Inktober" during October. It's basically a sketch challenge which was created back in 2009 where you draw something every day of the spooky month by following a certain word or theme. A few of you have joined me in this challenge the past few years & it's a wonderful way to stay active creatively while also enjoy the Holiday season! I've decided to be a little ambitious this year & create my own "Inktober Challenge" & I really hope you ALL will join me in this!
The regular Inktober list contains words like "Spell", "Creepy", "Spider"...things like that which can conjure up a broad array of images & leaves a lot of fun possibilities for the artists. I've decided to be more specific with my selections & am going simply with genre movies we all love & usually revisit this time of year.
The actual challenge to my "WATCH (& DRAW) IN HORROR" list is to watch those movies on the days listed & draw anything from those films! I know it's nearly impossible to consistently watch AND draw these films everyday, but I know we can at least SKETCH something from the list everyday! So that's the challenge! We'll be kicking off the first of October with Hitchcock's classic, PSYCHO & ending the perfect month with my favorite & yearly tradition on Halloween, TRICK 'R TREAT. I really hope that some of you will attempt this challenge & please certainly don't feel pressured to do it everyday! I know how overwhelming that can be.. Pick a few of your favorites or just sketch whenever inspiration hits! If you're already committed to another Inktober list out there, no worries! it! I just wanted to provide another option to hopefully inspire horror fiends like us! :)
Please feel free to save the above image of the list & share it whenever & wherever you want! Please always include the official hashtag #DrawInHorror with all posts though, so we can see ALL the submissions! I'm really looking forward to seeing (& sharing) your art for this!!
I plan on doing most of these sketches LIVE during my Live Art Streams on Patreon. So if you're interested in joining me during these streams to chat & even draw along, please visit my Patreon page & join the amazing, growing art community there!

I'm on Patreon, friends!

Yep, I made the jump to Patreon with the recommendation & guidance of a few friends. If you're unfamiliar with Patreon, it's a membership platform that provides business tools for creators like me to run a subscription content service. It's also a way for me to build relationships & provide exclusive art & experiences for my subscribers there, or "patrons" as they're called on Patreon.
So yeah, I'll be most active there from here on out posting regularly & interacting with all my patrons daily.  I can share everything I'm offering on my Patreon page here, but it would be easier for you to simply head to my page & check it out. I have a lot of tiers & subscription levels which offer different things from process videos, live art streams & original art. Again, go check it out & I would TRULY love your support on this adventure. ALL my patrons will be included in almost everything I create from here on out which is super exciting for me to build an "Art Family" there.
Here's my awkward Patreon intro/info video I did as well with a few focal points:

Thank you so much for reading this & even considering pledging to a freelance artist like myself. I really hope to see you over there where we can hang out virtually a lot more! You rock & I love you!

An Australian distributor just rereleased Trey Parker & Matt Stone's first film, CANNIBAL! THE MUSICAL on DVD, using my art as the cover art. This artwork was initially done as an official screen print for a TROMA screening of the film here in Austin. I'm pumped that they approached me to use this design for their cover as I've been a big fan of this ridiculous, gory musical since i first laid eyes on it!
Now's your chance to pick this hilarious film up on DVD (there's been no blu ray release of this this will have to work! ;), which is available in my online store NOW! Don't worry friends, this is an ALL REGION dvd, so it'll play on any dvd/blu ray player.

Where Nightmares Come True!

HAPPY (halfway point til) HALLOWEEEEEEEEEEN!!!!
Yep, we're exactly at the halfway point until the greatest holiday slaps us in the face with splendid visuals, sounds, smells AND tastes, so to celebrate this milestone & to make us fans even more excited about Halloween, I've decided to release a super duper, limited edition print!
I took TWO things that make giddy people like me silly happy & combined them to hopefully make YOU silly happier! I'm, of course, talking about anything Disney & a certain (now iconic) character which represents Halloween perfectly....
Where Nightmares Come True:
That's right!, featured in that famous silhouette of high-pitched happiness, Mickey Mouse, is non other than SAM from 'TRICK 'r Treat', the protector of Halloween who's always wearing his nightmarish grin which, in return, makes US grin nightmarishly!
This is a SUPER limited edition, 8"x 8" art print, limited to ONLY 31 (HEY! That's the number of days in October!!) & they're ONLY $13 (THAT'S the number of days in October REVERSED!!!!) They all come hand signed & numbered and they can't wait to hang on your wall to remind you of the joy that Halloween will soon bring. AND, those that order the print within the first 24 hours will also be getting a special treat sent along with their print! You're gonna have to order to see what it is, so be sure to head to my online store NOW to grab one of these adorable prints before they're gone FOREVER!
Okay, you tricksters, back to staring at the Halloween countdown clock! Also, a quick reminder that I'll be at Comicpalooza in Houston in a few weeks & will have some newer goodies to share, but more info on that soon....just save the dates: May 12-14th. Thanksssssss. & again:
HAPPY (halfway point til) HALLOWEEEEEEEEEEN!!!!

Spreading Some Love....

A few days ago there was big storm that hit LA & dumped millions of gallons of water in that area. A lot of places were effected by this giant blob on the radar & one of those special places was ArieScope Studios. ArieScope was created by friend, Adam Green, & has brought you awesome films such as the Hatchet series, Digging Up the Marrow, Frozen, Holliston along with many other killer films, shorts & the weekly, FREE podcast, The Movie Crypt. Unfortunately, the studio was hit hard & flooded causing water damage to the building as well as important, irreplaceable items. They're currently taking donations & of course offering their movies, comics, shirts, etc. to raise funds to help clean up & repair ArieScope.
I've done some art for Adam in the past & I'm also trying to raise some funds on my part to donate to him during this trying time. I completed a live art broadcast over on Periscope today where I painted & sold this portrait of Victor Crowley & ALL the sales will be donated to Ariescope:

I'm also donating the majority of sale of ALL these items available in my online store NOW:

Please pick something up from my store or the ArieScope store as it's needed more than ever so Adam & all of ArieScope can continue to give us the endless amount of entertainment they've already created & NEED to create in the future.
Thanks for your consideration & please do share & help spread the word on this...

Happy Holidays, everyone!
It's that jolly time of year to get wrapped up in the soothing Xmas melodies from Johnny Mathis & the great, Bing Crosby, while sipping a warm concoction by the fire with your favorite Holiday movie on in the background. I know we all enjoy the classics like Christmas Vacation & A Christmas Story, as well as my annual weeping like a fresh baby while watching A Family Stone, but the Christmas time HORROR classics are always present & sliding down the chimney onto that flat screen in my living room. Classics such as A Black Christmas (1974), Christmas Evil & even last year's, instant classic, Krampus! The fellow, true, horror fans are already shaking their fists in the air since I didn't list one of THE GREATEST Christmas, horror films on that list, but shake not, my demented elves, as lovable, Billy Chapman is up front in this post & ready to come visit YOUR house!
That's right, SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT made it's way onto the big screen just over 32 years ago & it's cult following has made it what it is today! That & the unbelievably OUTSTANDING performance from Billy Chapman's grandfather in the film! So this holiday season I felt it was only right & natural to release (or incarcerate) my newest Monster MugShot: BILLY CHAPMAN!!!

He's available NOW in my online store in both "Trading Card" size & the 8x10 print alongside the other 14 characters in my ongoing series. Another character (which I released last year around this time) is also perfect for this December weather: KRAMPUS.
& please don't forget my "Holiday Horrors Meet" print that has been making it's virtual tour of the interwebs recently thanks to all your sharing including THIS amazing article at which connects Mike Dougherty's two films, TRICK 'R TREAT with KRAMPUS.
So again, HAPPY HOLIDAYS, everyone & please take a moment to visit my store & see if there's any goodies that you &/or a loved one deserve! Also, give me a follow on Instagram to check out new art & specials/giveaways now & then...
Enjoy these last few days of a trying year & let's ring in 2017 with smiles & high fives!!!

November 25, 2016

So I'm a little late sharing this info on my blog, but at least i'm not TOO late!
There's a special band that I've been allowing into my earholes for many, many years now & they're putting together something exciting. What's even MORE exciting is that they have included ME in their newest adventure! The name of this band is GWAR & their newest adventure is COMIC BOOKS! Even though they have published some comics waaaay back in the day, this newest project is much more organized & super rad.
They currently have a Kickstarter going for their comic, which at this time has been funded, but there's a few more hours to pledge & get some amazing goodies for yourself or that loved one! Some of the goodies include a variant cover which they asked me to do for their first issue pictured here:

AND I've also offered up TEN custom, 5x7, watercolor/ink commissions (which comes with the first issue as well!) & as I type this there are ONLY THREE LEFT!

So please head over to NOW to check out what they have to offer & be a part of this special book filled with blood & other bodily fluids!!
If you don't have the funds to pledge anything at this moment, spreading the word is a MASSIVE way to show your support & is truly, truly appreciated by all of us involved!
Thanks for taking the time to read through this & THANK YOU for your continued support!

Alright, my masked amigos...THIS FRIDAY is the art opening of my new, solo exhibit, WE ALL WEAR MASKS. I wanted something to correspond with this time of year & THE BEST holiday ever, HALLOWEEN, so I wrote a fun story to base all my new works on:

'When 11-year-old Edward can't find that perfect, once-of-a-kind, Halloween costume, he is spontaneously gifted a mask from his strange, reclusive neighbor, "Old Man" Baker. When Edward puts the mask on & peers through the eyeholes, his sight is altered in a very odd manner. Instead of seeing the everyday "normal" smiles & friendly gestures of random people, he sees their true forms dripping with anxiety, awkwardness, depression, confusion, anger, sadness, fear, etc... Edward wonders why the majority of people cover their true selves, emotions & forms with fake appearances. After the mask begins to reveal people's true character, he understands the desire for some to disguise them. But others he finds more beautiful without the masks which they hide behind...'
In this exhibit, we see what Edward sees as he strips away the masks we all wear every day which hide how we truly look & feel...

The show opens Friday, October 14th from 7-10pm. There will be free beverages, music & other goodies for those who attend. I'll also have a station set up where the guests can create their own, original art which they can put up to be a part of the show & story.
I'd REALLY love to see you all there & since it's a FREE event, please bring whomever your heart desires! Here is the Facebook events page with all the info as well, so again, please share & invite your buddies: WE ALL WEAR MASKS Art Opening Reception
Looking forward to hugging you all....

New, Solo Art Show, yo!

I wanted to finally share the news w/ you, so please save the date for the opening reception of WE ALL WEAR MASKS (Oct. 14th) if you're in or around Austin. Much more info & images coming soon...

X Marks the spot...

Most of you should be aware of a little event called "X GAMES". No, it's not when members of the X-MEN get together for friendly forms of competition, but rather the greatest skateboarders, bike riders & hi fivers get together for a few days to show off their highest jump, craziest tricks &/or loudest hi five! THAT X Games is once again making it's way to Austin THIS WEEKEND!! Not only will it be wowing you with it's high flying antics, but there's a few special events happening alongside X Games that I'm super pumped to be a part of! The first is just like a "Secret" show I was a part of only a few weeks ago in Houston... Yep, SECRET WALLS x X GAMES is coming at ya!!
I'll be competing again in a timed, 90-minute, live art battle using only black & white paint....THAT'S XTREME! I've been paired up with local friends & artists Jason Eatherly, Roshi K & Wade Thompson to form the 4-person group of "Team Texas" to represent the hometown of Austin against "Team World". "World" consists of heavy hitting art MONSTERS Greg Mike, Brian Butler, Paul Jackson & Matt Gondek. Definitely seek out their art if you're unfamiliar with it as it's all magical stuff! We're due for an epic battle of XTREME scale as each team tackles a massive 26' x 8' blank wall in only 90 minutes! The battle will be held during X Games at the Circuit Of Americas THIS Friday, June 3rd from 6-8pm. It'll be hosted by Nick Major with live DJ grooves from Klever. I truly hope you can make it out to this spectacle as the audience determines the winner with their screams & yells, so come & "root, root, root for the hooooooome teeeeeeeeam!"
If you happen to have a weekend pass for X Games or plan on being on the closing day of Sunday, I'll also be there doing some LIVE painting for one of the giant sponsors there, LifeProof.  I'll be painting the front & back of large, 3'x 6' "Phone cover" which  I hope you come see me do! You can even point & laugh if you want!
So yeah, I'll be at X Games slinging paint those two days & I really hope to see your xtreme faces there which would make me xtremely happy. I wanted to give another reminder that I'll be at Comicaplooza in Houston June 17-19th, but I'll remind you once more the closer it gets. Reminding is FUN!
Thanks again, friends...see you this weekend!
